Welcome, dear Czech dancers!

Ahoj! We know that square dancing in West Bohemia takes real travelling spirit – there is currently no active square dance club in the Pilsen area, and the nearest ones are in Karlovy Vary, Prague, or České Budějovice. Yet we, the Bavarian Starlights from Ensdorf, are often easier to reach from Pilsen than some clubs in your own country. We would love for you to visit us!

Do I need to speak English or German for square dancing in Germany?

No: the calls are uniform worldwide and across all clubs, spoken in English – that's true in Czech clubs too. If you know the calls of your level, you can dance with us right away – for questions, we speak German or English.

What to expect with us

Our club night is every Thursday from 7:30 pm at Pfarrsaal St. Jakob, Hauptstr. 10, 92266 Ensdorf. We dance Mainstream through A1 – plus an A1 club night with an A2 preview on the first Thursday of every month. Our club is friendly and open: guests are always warmly welcome, and we leave rank and titles at home.

As a guest, please call ahead to register with Marion: +49 172 9152722 · WhatsApp (German or English spoken). This helps us plan properly and arrange a suitable square for you. For the A1 club night with an A2 preview on the first Thursday of the month, registration is always required.

Is there a square dance club in West Bohemia or Pilsen?

Not currently: there is no active square dance club in the Pilsen area right now. The nearest Czech clubs are in Karlovy Vary, Prague, or České Budějovice – so dancers in West Bohemia are often travelling further than the trip to us in Ensdorf.
