Join Us — Three Ways to Us
Whether you already dance or are starting completely fresh: there are three ways to the Bavarian Starlights, and the same holds for all three — you need no partner (we rotate), no English (the calls are named in English, explained in German), and there is no age that does not fit. The only difference is where you get in.
Which way is yours?
You dance Plus or higher?
Then come as a guest — every Thursday from 7:30 pm, Plus and A1, with an A2 preview on the first Thursday. Free of charge, with a short registration.
You want to belong permanently?
From Plus upwards you can become a member — a small club with its own caller that pulls the level up together from Plus to A2. The path starts with a guest visit.
You have never danced before?
Then the beginners' course is your way in: from scratch to Mainstream, in a fixed group. Club night is for dancing, not teaching — that is why the course exists.
What Matters to Us
At the Bavarian Starlights, one thing matters above all: community. Our club life is built as much around the dances themselves as around our after-parties, club celebrations and visits to other clubs. We leave rank and title at the door — everyone is welcome just as they are.
What Should I Wear?
Come as you feel comfortable – everyday casual clothes are perfectly fine. Traditional square dance outfits with petticoats and western shirts are a welcome sight at our club, but they haven't been required for a long time.
Coming From the Czech Republic?
West Bohemia has no square dance club of its own – we are about an hour's drive from Plzeň. Travel times, language and everything else are on the For Czech Dancers page.
